Our edible garden builds curiosity, botany, and writing skills.

A few weeks back the children worked on a project for which they classified everything edible in our school yard.

They picked items, laid them out on paper and labeled them.

Right now there's mint, chard, spinach, lemon grass, pennyworth, artichoke, celery, asparagus, and curry leaf. Of course we've got several fruit-bearing trees.

If this year's crop is anything like last year (below), there will be plenty of botany lessons when we reopen in August.
