Sleep. A core ingredient for pre-schoolers

We can't stress this enough. Children need plenty of sleep. And by plenty, pediatricians say toddlers need up to 13-hours of sleep. (Check WebMD, for a breakdown per age group.). This topic came up during Curriculum Night.

Here were some other areas that we talked about:

What could you do as a parent?

  • Let the child dress independently, with practical clothing.

  • Feed him/herself. Finger foods but a choice of different foods

  • SLEEP, Sleep, Sleep! Recommended for pre-schoolers – they need 10-13 hours of sleep

  • Encourage the natural sense of order to develop in your child’s life. Toys need to be cleaned up and put away.

  • Maintain a good morning routine
